Biographical Note

James Milner King was the son of early Stockdale, Texas pioneers. He completed a law degree from the University of Texas, though he never practiced law. During World War I, he served as sergeant of battery D 131st Field Artillery of the 36th Division. After the war, he and his family owned and operated the Citizens Telephone Co. King passed away in 1953 at the age of 65.
