Biographical Note

Myrtis Brooks graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Austin with a BFA degree in drama. She earned an MA from Texas Woman's University and worked as drama director at Dulles High School in Sugar Land, Texas. In 1962, she wrote a musical adaptation of Cinderella that was produced at Theatre Inc., Houston, and Jackson, Tennessee's Children's Community Players. She also directed the University Interscholastic League Conference AAA State Meet One-Act Play Contest winner in 1972.
