A Guide to the UT Hogg Debating Society Records, 1946-1949
The UT Hogg Debating Society was founded in 1905 and named for James Stephen Hogg, a former governor of Texas. The Society was founded for the purpose of furthering debating and declaiming. The Society has experienced many revivals, including some time as a social club.
