Biographical/Historical Note

David Rosen remained in Japan after discharge from the US Armed Forces and founded a company called Rosen Enterprises in 1954. Rosen Enterprises merged with another company started by American expatriates called Service Games in 1965 to become SEGA. Rosen became CEO of the company and stayed in the position through acquisition first by Gulf and Western in 1967 and later by Bally Entertainment in 1983. In 1984, Rosen and others purchased a controlling interest in shares of SEGA from Bally Entertainment. Rosen remained chairman of SEGA until his retirement in 1996.


Scope and Contents

Collection contains nearly all systems, controllers and peripherals that SEGA produced for the home market as well as numerous video games produced by the company. Many of these items exist in their original packaging. Also includes VHS/Cassette media with SEGA commercials and other promotional recordings.
