A Guide to the Manning (William Ray) Papers, 1914-1916
Dr. William Ray Manning served as chairman of the UT faculty committee on Faculty Advisors for Students. He was appointed by the UT president to study and propose a system of faculty advisors for the University students.
These papers contain correspondence, memoranda, notes, pamphlets, questionnaires, recommendations, reports, and tabulations from the Committee on Faculty Advisors for Students. Most notable in the papers is the questionnaire conducted by the committee whih polled various colleges and universities in the United States and Canada regarding their respective policies concerning faculty advisors for students.
