Historical Note

The University of Texas at Austin College of Business Administration, today the McCombs School of Business, was established in 1922 and is one of the country’s oldest business schools. In 1948, the College established the Master of Professional Accounting, and in 1955, the first Executive Education Programs were offered. In 2000, Red McCombs donated $50 million to UT; the College of Business Administration and the Graduate School of Business were merged and named the Red McCombs School of Business.

Scope and Contents

The UT College of Business Administration Records contains senior class pictures of the College from 1922 to 1942; Advisory Council meeting minutes from 1966-1989; paperwork for the commissioning of a portrait of Dr. John Arch White in honor of the John Arch White Professorship in 1968; records relating to the Professional Program in Accounting, such as Lyceum Series programs (2004-2010), biennial reports from 2005 to 2009, and recruitment materials; strategic plans for both the College of Business Administration and UT; reports, brochures and publications; videotaped lectures, as well as UT Centennial materials including plans, programs and memos relating to the events of the centennial from 1981-1983.
