He earned degrees in electrical and mechanical engineering at the University of Texas at Austin before embarking on an engineering career in steam electric power. Geue’s lifelong interest in the history of German settlement in Texas, and particularly the New Braunfels area, flourished as he partnered with his wife Ethel Hander Geue on numerous research and writing projects.
