A Guide to the Albert Peterson Family Papers, 1906-1932
Biographical NoteJohn Albert Peterson (known as Albert Peterson) was born in Öggestorp, Småland, Sweden in 1878 and immigrated to Williamson County, Texas in Williamson County in 1885. He was accompanied by his parents, Jonas and Katarina (known as Karin) Peterson, and five siblings. The family settled in the Swedish community of Hutto, Texas. Albert married Lillie Peterson of Round Rock, Texas in 1904. They had six children, including son Leroy, born in 1908. Lillie’s sister, Mina Johanna Peterson (known as Nina Peterson) married Claus Peterson in 1902. Many Peterson men, including Albert and Claus, were farmers and landowners in the Hutto area. The family was also very active in the Swedish Lutheran Church of Hutto. John Ljungren (alternatively Ljunggren) and his wife Christina (also known as Kristina Wickstrom) had two daughters, Augusta and Anna. Augusta married Carl Peterson, brother of Claus Peterson, in 1902; Anna (known as Annie Johnson) married Emil Johnson in 1907. Included are poll tax receipts, liens, checks, insurance policies, receipts, tax records, and a letter from B. A. Simpson inquiring about a job weighing cotton. There are many documents related to the ownership of a tract of 122 acres of land out of the John Dyches Survey in Williamson County.
