H. Eldon Sutton (1927- ) received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin in 1953. Dr. Sutton is on the faculty of the Molecular Genetics and Microbiology section of the School of Biological Sciences, The University of Texas at Austin. From 1977-1980, Dr. Sutton served as secretary on the Board of Trustees
of the Southwest Texas Public Broadcasting Council, responsible for KLRN-TV Channel 9 and KLRU-TV Channel 18.
This collection is split between records pertaining to the Southwest Texas Public Broadcasting Council, including Executive Committee and Board of Trustee meeting minutes, correspondence and the 1979 Investigative Committee, and the family data collected during the Austin Black Families study during the 1960s. Of note, is the Austin Black Families Index, which includes the pedigree information for over 7000 individuals.
