Biographical Note

Born in Floresville, Texas, to Milton H. West, Sr., and Mary Templeman “Temple” Worley, Milton H. West, Jr., received a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Serving in World War II, West fought in the Battle of Leyte Gulf, for which he received a Bronze Star Medal in 1946. Following the war, he married Kathryn Johnson in 1952.
