A Guide to the James Eugene Torbett Scrapbook, 1918-1919
Biographical NoteThe son of James S. Torbett and Eugenia Wicker James Eugene Torbett (1893-1952) was born in Mound, Coryell County, Texas. During World War I, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. As a part of the 344th Field Artillery Band, Torbett served as a musician as he traveled with his regiment throughout France and Germany. Following the war, he returned to Texas and married in 1922. Torbett and his wife Lola had one child, Doratha Jean, born in 1926. He eventually moved to Nueces County, where he died in 1952. Source: "James Eugene Torbett." We Relate.
