			<p>In 2003, Mike Conway, then an instructor in the University of Texas at Austin’s School of Journalism, interviewed largely unknown CBS News employees regarding the network’s news department during the 1940s for his dissertation. The project then formed the core of Conway’s book <emph render="italic">The Origins of Television News in America: The Visualizers of CBS in the 1940s</emph>. </p>

			<p>Consisting of VHS tapes, transcripts, and a CD, the CBS-TV Oral History Project Records, 2003-2004, document Mike Conway’s research of the development of CBS News during the 1940s. The VHS tapes contain video of the interviews, in addition to transcripts of the interviews in both hard copy and electronic format. Photographs of some interviewees and an electronic copy of CBS employee Henry Cassirer’s unpublished manuscript “Citizen of the 20th Century” complete the collection.</p>
