A Guide to the Millfall Cooperative Records, 1979-2000, and undated
Incorporated in 1979, the Millfall Cooperative was a cooperative that formed under the Cooperative Association Act of Texas. The cooperative sought to purchase land in Williamson County which would serve both as a home for its members as well as a natural preserve. In 1985, it disbanded and reorganized as a non-profit organization. All members received one acre of land and were allowed to vote on the cooperative’s resolutions. The board of directors decided to dissolve the cooperative in 1997, selling the land and distributing the assets to its former members.
Comprising correspondence, legal records, meeting notes and agendas, reports, policies, membership lists, newsletters, newspaper clippings, maps, and resolutions, the Millfall Cooperative Records, 1979-2000, and undated, document the establishment of the Millfall Cooperative and its reorganization in 1985. Correspondence concerns the meetings of the board of directors, land ownership, and the disbandment of the cooperative in 1997, while legal records consisting of contracts, as well as reports and resolutions relate to the incorporation, reorganization, and dissolution of the cooperative. Additionally, the collection includes notes and agendas from the meetings of the board of directors, the policies of the cooperative, membership lists, newsletters, maps illustrating member ownership, and newspaper clippings regarding the development of land in Williamson County and the Hill Country.
