Historical Note
Originally established as the Department of Public Speaking in 1899, the College of Communication was renamed in 1979. Including the departments of Communication Sciences and Disorders, Radio-Television-Film, Advertising and Public Relations, Communication Studies, as well as the School of Journalism, the college also houses KUT-FM Radio.

Scope and Contents
A DVD composes the UT College of Communication Records, 1997, documenting the activities of the college’s advisory council. Entitled "Preparing for Success" and created by the College of Communication Advisory Council, the DVD contains interviews with alumni which were shown to incoming students in the Department of Radio-Television-Film.
