Biographical NoteBorn in Sparta, Georgia, T. C. Neel (1825-1863) moved to Ellis County, Texas, in 1855 with his family and slaves where Neel signed the Texas Articles of Secession and served as a member of both the Texas House and Senate. During the Civil War he supported the Confederacy with money and supplies as well as serving in the government.
