Murphree (d. 1961) moved to Denver, Colorado, where he worked as a reporter as well as the music and drama critic/editor for the Denver Post. Murphree Papers, 1953-1955, document Murphree’s career as journalist for the Denver Post. Correspondence concerns familial affairs as well as his reviews of various plays, musical performances, and movies, while financial records consist of bank statements, receipts, and checks.
