Two drafts of the biography, Life and Diary of Reading W. Black, and a letter composes the Ike Moore Papers, 1850-1867, documenting the history of the upper Nueces region and its development by Reading Wood Black, a pioneer settler, land developer, and entrepreneur. The papers describe the establishment of San Antonio and the Republic of Texas, along with political and social affairs, during the 19th century. Additionally, an 1866 copy of a letter to “Jennie” from Black concerns familial matters.
