A Guide to the W. J. Montgomery Papers, 1876-1878
Lawyer W. J. Montgomery (b. ca. 1845-1904) established a legal practice in Austin, Texas, in partnership with James Peeler and A. S. Fisher in 1873. He was married to Ida H. Montgomery.

Two bound letterpresses comprise the W.J. Montgomery Papers, 1876-1878, documenting Montgomery’s legal affairs. The letters concern taxes, land titles, and surveys, as well as a name index. His clients include Sam Houston and Sam Houston, Jr.
