Biographical Note
Born to George McCarty and Mattie Crites in Mangum, Oklahoma, Frank Warren McCarty (1897-1982) married Florence Evelyn Page (1913-1990) in 1934. Raised in Texas, Florence was the daughter of Roscoe C. Page and Nellie Jane Isbell. In 1938, the couple moved with their daughter Anelle from Texas to Hollywood, California, where the she had a career as a child actress. Additionally, Anelle authored an autobiography on her childhood entitled My First Sixteen Years: A Memoir of Texas & Hollywood (2000).

Scope and Contents
Composed of three audiocassette tapes, photographs, and a memoir, the Frank Warren and Florence Page McCarty Oral History, 1979-1980, 1983, 1996, documents the experiences of the McCartys in Oklahoma, Texas, and California. The audiocassette tapes contain an interview with Florence and Frank discussing their respective childhoods, while photographs depict members of the McCarty family. Additionally, the unpublished reminiscences entitled "My First Sixteen Years: Memoir of Texas and Hollywood," concerns Anelle McCarty Kloski’s activities as a child actress.
