A Guide to the Benito Lopez Daybooks, 1886-1888
Born in Mexico, Benito Lopez (ca. 1813-1888) moved to San Antonio, Texas, in 1841. Later in life, he moved to Floresville, where he worked as a pawnbroker.
Composed of three volumes and a typescript of an obituary, the Benito Lopez Daybook, 1886-1888, document Lopez’s business affairs as a pawnbroker in Floresville, Texas. The daybooks concern his expenses and business transactions, while the obituary relates to his death in 1888.
