			<head>Biographical Note</head>
			<p>Born in DeKalb, Tennessee, Elbert Walter (E. W.) LeFevre (1895-1984) married Mattie Hazie Davis (1898-1982) of Palo Pinto, Texas, in 1922. The couple bore two children, whom they raised in Eden, Texas. The LeFevres were members of the Eden Methodist Church, for which E. W. served as treasurer.</p>

			<p>Composed of minutes, financial records, correspondence, and an unpublished manuscript, the E. W. and Hazie Davis LeFevre Papers, 1894, 1934-1958, document the LeFevres’ involvement in the Eden Methodist Church in Eden, Texas. Minutes chronicle the activities of the Eden Study Club, while three ledgers concern the finances of the church, such as donations and expenditures. Additionally, correspondence from E. W. LeFevre concerns donations to the church, while an unpublished manuscript of an 1894 newsletter <emph render="italic">The Literary Star</emph> of Paint Rock, Texas, discusses news and notable events, including marriages.</p>
