Biographical Note
Hugh N. Jones was a Confederate soldier during the Civil War, participating in the Vicksburg Campaign in 1863.
Scope and Contents
Four letters comprise the Hugh N. Jones Papers, 1861-1866, documenting his service in the Confederate army. Written to his niece Martha, Jones’ letters describe his health and the conditions at Vicksburg during the military campaign in the spring of 1863.
