			<head>Biographical Note</head>
<p>Attorney, historian, and Texana collector Hobart Huson, Jr. (1893–1983) was born to
Hobart and Kathleen (Lancaster) Huson in San Antonio, Texas. After studying law at
Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee, Huson settled in Refugio, Texas. Before
1916, he married Minnie Rachael Price, with whom he had one daughter. He later
remarried after the death of his first wife. At his home in Refugio, Huson collected
an extensive Texana library of around 20,000 items, including records of Texas
history, Refugio County data, law books, and maps. Active in numerous civic
associations, he served as state president of the Sons of the Republic of Texas, the
Order of San Jacinto, chancellor commander of the Knights of Pythias in San Antonio,
president of the Refugio County bar, commander of the Refugio American Legion Post,
the Sons of the American Revolution, and the Sons of 1812. He also served as
director of the San Antonio Genealogical Society and established the Abe Lincoln Law
School. Huson wrote numerous books, including <emph render="italic">El Copano, the
