			<p>V. T. Hart and his son operated a wholesale and retail drugstore in Mineola, Texas. In addition to their business activities, they were interested in the U. S. government’s policies on economy of the American South.</p>

			<head>Scope and Contents</head>
			<p>Composed of newspaper clippings and notes, the V. T. Hart and Son Scrapbook, 1890-1896, documents the Harts’ interest in the impact of American politics on the economy of the South, particularly Texas. Notes contain references to articles, while newspaper clippings consist of articles on the agricultural economy of the South, gold and silver standards, and the activities of President Grover Cleveland, among other topics.</p>
