Historical Note
In 1873, the Methodist Episcopal Church of Granbury, Texas, established Granbury College, which served as a private elementary and high school. In 1889, Granbury College merged with and was renamed Weatherford College. The institution was later restructured as a junior college in 1921, one of the oldest in the state of Texas.
