			<p>Comprising correspondence and legal records, the Felix B. Earnest Papers, 1830-1855, document Earnest’s experiences in Austin’s Colony, Texas. Correspondence concerns familial affairs and the cattle trade in Texas. Legal papers consist of two Spanish certificates, one signed by Stephen F. Austin granting one-quarter league of land to Earnest, while another verifies that he was a member of Austin’s colony.</p>
