Biographical NoteMorris G. Cook, a resident of Austin, Texas, was a rare bookseller specializing in Texas and local history. He organized a comprehensive collection of materials concerning the life of his friend J. Frank Dobie that the University of Texas at San Antonio acquired in 1974. Cook Collection, 1935, 1945-1983, mainly relating to William Morris Cook’s childhood education. Austin public school report cards document William Cook’s performance in grade school. A 1935 diary details a trip throughout Europe, and a 1953 photograph depicts an unidentified man in a drugstore. Printed material includes pamphlets, a newspaper supplement from the Sam Houston College News, and paper fans from the Gipson Funeral Home.
