As a public servant, he has served terms as a Texas State Representative (1981-1984), Chief of Staff and Chief Legislative Liaison to Governor Mark White (1985-1987), Mayor of the town of Crockett (1989-1991), Texas State Senator (1991-1996), and a member of the U.
