Historical Note
A cinematographer at the McCann-Erikson advertising agency during the 1950s, David McMeans worked on a project for the Paymaster Feed Company, which sponsored television commercials about local farms in Abilene, Texas. Hosted by local TV personality Harry Holt, these black and white commercials aired on KRBC-TV in Abilene.

Comprised of scripts and approximately 2 feet of 16 mm black and white silent motion picture film created for the Paymaster Feed Company, the David McMeans Film Collection, [ca. 1956-1959], visually documents individual farms near Abilene, Texas, in the late 1950s.Also included in the collection, is approximately 6 inches of 16mm black and white film of a rodeo in Baird, Texas and other aspects of American lifestyle during the 1950s.
