A Guide to the Austin Community Concert Association Scrapbooks, 1935-1955
Founded in 1935, the Austin Community Concert Association hosted classical, operatic, and other performances in Austin, Texas. Officers included President H. T. Parlin and Secretary-Treasurer/General Manager Lois Trice. Following the departure of Trice in 1953, the Association disbanded two years later.
Four scrapbooks compiled by Lois Trice compose the Austin Community Concert Association Scrapbooks, 1935-1955, documenting numerous classical, operatic, and other performances hosted by the Austin Community Concert Association in Austin, Texas. The scrapbooks contain photographs, programs, tickets, membership cards, newspaper clippings, and correspondence related to performances by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, soprano Bidu Sayao, dancer Carola Goya, violinist Joseph Szigeti, mime Angna Enters, and pianist Clifford Curzon, among others.
