Edmond L. Harris was a founding member of the Texas Land Company, organized by Georgia citizens in 1830s for the purpose of investment in Lagrange, Texas, property.
Comprising a letter and legal document, the Edmond L. Harris Letter, 1837, documents the history of the Texas Land Company. Written by Harris from Lagrange, Texas to his brother in Harris County, Georgia, the missive concerns the company's formation, constitution, and capitalization. A copy of the constitution is also included.
