Return to the Table of Contents Scope and ContentsCorrespondence, newspaper clippings, postcards, scrapbooks, and photographs compose the Nettie Barrell Doscher More Papers, 1895-1982, documenting More’s life and the history of the Doscher and Shearn families of Houston, Texas. Letters to More from family members, a grade school scrapbook, and a correspondence with Cadet Rolfe Jones (1939) shed light on More’s youth. Numerous scrapbooks document Maynette Shearn’s college years (1915-1916) and the Shearn family from the late 19th century to World War II. Photographs depict members of the Doscher and Shearn families. Newspaper articles written by More describe the weekly achievements of REACT, an Austin community organization of CB radio emergency responders.
