			<head>Biographical Note</head>
<p>A resident of Jacksonville, Florida, author Edward Caleb Coker is the great-great-grandson of Helen Ellsworth Blair (1817-1881) and William Warren Chapman (1814-1859). The former is known for her letters which chronicle life on the Texas frontier as well as in Brownsville and Corpus Christi. A graduate of Stanford University and Duke Law School, Coker published an edited volume of his great-great-grandmother’s correspondence entitled, <emph render="italic">The News from Brownsville: Helen Chapman’s Letters from the Texas Military Frontier, 1848-1852</emph> (Austin, Tex.: Texas State Historical Association, 1992).</p>
