			<head>Biographical Note</head>
			<p>A native of Austin, Texas, Curtis Bishop (1912-1967) was a student at the University
				of Texas at Austin, a newspaper writer for the Austin American-Statesman, and a
				local author. Sometimes using the pseudonyms “Curt Brandon” and “Curt Carroll”,
				Bishop wrote more than fifty books and several hundred magazine articles for youth
				concerning sports and western lore.</p>

			<head>Scope and Contents</head>
			<p>Comprising magazines, short story transcripts, and photographs containing Bishop’s
				work, the Curtis Bishop Papers, 1933-1953, 1967, undated, document his career as a
				short story and magazine author. The collection includes his short stories: “Give a
				Halfback Wings” and “The Lost Eleven.” Additionally, the papers contain a Texas
				Senate Resolution (1967) in the aftermath of Bishop’s death and a 1953 Austin
				American-Statesman article concerning a new book he had published.</p>
