A Guide to the U. S. Naval Academy Alumni from Texas Collection, [ca. 1960s-1970s]

Historical Note

Founded in 1845, the United States Naval Academy trains students in a four-year Officer Development Program, preparing them for assignments as midshipmen after graduation. The courses focus on moral values, including honor, honesty, and respect for human dignity; academic education in mathematics, engineering, and other social and physical sciences; professional and leadership training through practical decision-making exercises; and an athletic program to improve health and teach teamwork.

Scope and Contents

Alphabetically arranged, the U. S. Naval Academy Alumni from Texas Collection, [ca. 1960s-1970s], comprises a card file of hundreds of U. S. Naval Academy graduates from Texas in the 20th century. Each card identifies the graduate’s name; birth date and place, if known; class year; and the person’s position and location where stationed after graduation.
