Scope and Contents
Comprising minutes and reports, the Texas Planning Board Land Use Committee Minutes, 1935-1936, document the activities of the Land Use Committee of the Texas Planning Board. The minutes chronicle the meetings of the committee; its participants, such as board director E. A. Wood and committee chairman R. C. Hopping; and its topics of discussion, including problems with limited rangelands for livestock and the need for resettlement of farms. A handwritten draft and typescript copy of a report, entitled "Summary of the Industrial Structure of Waco," discusses textile production, food industries, lumber, metal and glass production, chemicals, and other manufacturing industries in Waco and Eastern Texas.
