Scope and ContentsThe Swisher County History, 1937, contains a handwritten manuscript about the history of Swisher County, Texas, written by Mrs. A. L. Morgan and Mrs. J. W. Pierce for a history course at the West Texas State Teachers College. The narrative describes the founding of the county seat, Tulia; the lives of pioneers; the reminiscences of interviewees; and early businesses and schools. Photographs inserted into the manuscript depict buildings and people, including the Tulia baseball team, bankers, early schools, and Texas Centennial celebrations.
