Biographical Note
After joining the United States Marine Corps in 1917, Texan Warren R. Jackson trained off the coast of Virginia before entering combat in World War I. On October 6, he arrived by boat in France, where he was stationed until his return to the United States in August 1919. For his service Jackson was awarded two Silver Stars and the Croix de Guerre from France. Jackson later lived in Harleton, Texas.
