			<head>Scope and Contents</head>
			<p>The Reconstruction Scrapbook, 1865-1880, consists of clippings from newspapers and pamphlets of political speeches and commentary, spanning the entire Reconstruction period and the beginning of the Gilded Age and Progressive era. The clippings include speeches by politicians Oliver P. Morton, James G. Blaine, Henry Wilson, Moses W. Field, and William D. Kelley, among others. Clippings of political commentary discuss the political parties, politicians, and issues pertaining to labor, economics, and the Reconstruction Acts.</p>
