A Guide to the Gordon (Thomas Tolson) Reminiscences, 1844-1933.
Biographical SketchBorn in Alabama, Thomas Tolson Gordon (1844-1923) was educated in Pennsylvania. He served in the Confederate 6th Alabama Infantry and the 53rd Alabama Cavalry during the Civil War. From 1866 to 1868, Gordon traveled throughout Brazil, describing the people and social conditions. Gordon married Mary Bouhanan in 1901 and died in 1923.
