Scope and Contents

The Mrs. B. S. Given Papers, [ca. 1925], comprises correspondence and printed, typed, and handwritten biographical sketches of prominent Texans of the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries. The sketches primarily include politicians and businessmen, such as Charles Allen Culbertson, Thomas Watt Gregory, and Joseph E. Cockrell. Most of the biographies were sent to Given, often along with correspondence, by the sketch subject, though some were also composed by Given.
