In 1849, Joseph W. Garrety filed a petition for injunction to Judge Robert E. B. Baylor (1793-1873) in the District Court of Travis County, in response to a judgment rendered by Justice of the Peace H. C. Hyde in the court case Alexander G. Gayle vs. Joseph W. Garrety.
