Biographical NoteAlbert Francis Field (1856-1912) served as a Texas Ranger in A. L. Parrott’s Squad in Castroville, Texas, from about 1870 to 1900. His daughter, Zatella Greigh Field (1898-1968), married I. N. Mitchell. Jennings in San Antonio, Texas, from Field in Lockhart, discussing his experiences as a Texas Ranger from about 1870 to 1900. The letter describes his work with A. L. Parrott’s Squad in Castroville, including the capture of criminals, jail guard duty, and interactions with fellow Rangers, or “comrades,” such as Charlie McKinney and John McNelly.
