Biographical NoteJohn Felloseby was the father of Mary Anna [Moseley?] and other children. A supporter of Texas independence, he traveled to Texas in 1836 upon the steamship Caspian through Alexandria and Natchitoches, Louisiana, to buy land for himself and others. Felloseby discusses his sadness upon hearing of the fall of the Alamo, his interest in the Texas Declaration of Independence, and the prospect of buying land in Texas for himself and on behalf of others.
