A Guide to the San Antonio Livestock Exposition Inc., Records, 1968-1981
Historical NoteThe San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Inc. (SALE), a volunteer organization that supports youth agriculture and education, was founded in 1950 with the inception of the first annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. This event fulfilled the goal of the Joe and Harry Freeman Coliseum, opened in San Antonio two years earlier in order to serve as a venue for a livestock exposition for the youth of Texas, as well as other events. The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo provides educational agricultural awareness tours and honors exemplary students in 4-H and FFA.
