Members of the Miles Family, presumably Albert, Alfred and William Miles, relocated to San Antonio, Texas from Meriden, Connecticut in the late 1860s. The family purchased a lot for 200 dollars.
Scope and Contents
The Miles Family Papers, 1868-1873, contain a series of family letters from Meriden, Connecticut, to San Antonio. Correspondents include Albert, John, and William, presumably all with the last name Miles. The letters, including those from their father John Miles and mother in Meriden, discuss topics of family life such as marriage, children and setting up a new home in Texas. Also the collection includes a receipt for cotton sold, 1869.
