			<p>Bonnie D. Huval, originally from Texas, has worked as an engineer in oilfield
				services and at the Johnson Space Center as well as a consultant helping companies
				with dispatch, transaction, and automation systems. From 1983 to 1986, she served as
				the director of the National Organization for Women (NOW) South Central region and
				greatly improved the financial situation of the nonprofit organization. Now living
				in England, Huval’s other business interests include real estate and property
				management. She is the author of business books including <emph render="italic">Make
					Sure You Get Paid-And Other Business Basics</emph> (2004); <emph render="italic"
					>Get Paid! : As Much As You Deserve, and On Time</emph> (2009); and <emph
					render="italic">Nobody Mentioned That! : Essays for Small Business,
					USA-UK</emph> (2009). Additionally, Huval gives presentations and produces
				materials to help small businesses be more successful.</p>

			<p>Correspondence, classified files, financial records, chapter records, convention
				information, speeches, books, manuals, addresses, directories, mailing lists, memos,
				mail receipts, bumper stickers, posters, notes, notebooks, newspapers, newsletters,
				minutes, reports, studies, news clippings, photographs, artifacts, and
				transparencies comprise the Bonnie D. Huval Papers, 1977-1992. Huval’s classified
				files pertain to the National Organization for Women (NOW), the NOW South Central
				region, and Texas NOW, including national board meetings and other NOW sessions, the
				1987 NOW Convention in Philadelphia, NOW elections, and membership. The materials
				document NOW board activities and include organizational records such as the NOW
				policy manual, and relate to Huval’s activities with Texas NOW and as the NOW South
				Central Regional director along with some personal activities. Additionally, the
				papers concern feminism and women’s issues in general. Other topics documented in
				the collection are human rights for women, the physically challenged, and minority
				groups, including specific issues such as pornography, reproductive rights, sexual
				harassment, and political matters such as state legislation, voter registration, and
				presidential campaigns.</p>
			<p>The collection contains materials related to NOW chapter development, administration
				and issues policies, bylaws of both the National and the Texas chapters, national
				briefings, and activities of Texas women for the passage of the Equal Rights
				Amendment (ERA). The correspondence between Huval and friends and colleagues
				concerns women’s issues and activities as well as personal matters. Additionally,
				the papers include a letter, dated August 1992, from Huval to Katherine Adams
				relating the previous year’s activities. The collection also contains materials
				related to the NOW Rape Task Force as well as memorabilia from the Kansas NOW state
				conference of 1983 and from the National Women’s Conference in Houston in 1977.
				Furthermore, the papers include copies of the <emph render="italic">Texas NOW Times</emph> from 1977 to 1987 as
				well as a log book and notes from the NOW Grievance Committee, Washington, D.C. and
				Mid-Atlantic region, 1985-1986. </p>
