Biographical NoteRobert C. Hunter (b. March 12, 1915) was a fireman in Hamilton, Ohio, and served as a U.S. Army and Navy medic during World War II on maritime bases in New York and in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He married Alma McQueen (b. January 20, 1915), with whom he had a son, Douglas (b. January 19, 1939). Return to the Table of Contents Scope and ContentsThe Robert C. Entries in the diaries discuss eating dinner or seeing movies with friends and family, buying presents and writing letters, hospital and military bases where he worked, his own illnesses, and witnessing bombings.
