			<p>Texas celebrated its Sesquicentennial, or 150th anniversary, of its founding as a
				Republic in 1986. For this historic event, the Austin <emph render="italic"
					>American-Statesman</emph> prepared a special Sesquicentennial Edition of its
				daily newspaper. The newspaper includes interviews with famous and celebrated Texans
				including Kenneth Threadgill, Dudley Dobie, and Texas Ranger Captain Alfred Young
				Allee.</p>

			<p>The Austin <emph render="italic">American-Statesman</emph> Sesquicentennial Oral
				History Collection, 1986, contains 31 audiocassette tapes of interviews conducted by
				the Austin <emph render="italic">American-Statesman</emph> in preparation for their special 1986 Sesquicentennial
				Edition. Some interviews of note include those with Captain A. Y. Allee, Dudley
				Dobie, Ned Fritz, and Kenneth Threadgill.</p>
