A Guide to the Lewis Hogg Items, 1670-1835
Biographical SketchLewis Hogg (1670-1747) was born in Virginia. He married Mary Margaret Lindsey, daughter of John Lindsey and Elizabeth Bethwell. Their son, John Hogg (1725-1782), was the only one of three children to survive past the age of two. He served in the Revolutionary War. Hogg is an ancestor of Governor James Stephen Hogg (1851-1906).
